Chasing the Northern Lights: A Night to Remember
There are moments in life that leave you breathless, and witnessing the auroras dancing in the sky was one such moment for me. It was a sight so mesmerizing that I found myself questioning if I was even breathing.
Our journey began with a pre-booked “Chasing the Northern Lights” tour with Arctic Adventures. Their service was impeccable, starting with a warm greeting outside our hotel by our friendly guide. Along with nine other fellow adventurers, we set off to explore the stunning landscapes of Southern Iceland in pursuit of the elusive northern lights.
Our expedition took us to various locations over several hours. The climax of our adventure was a trip to the peak of a nearby mountain, adjacent to a frozen lake. It was here that the sky erupted into a spectacle of dancing lights, the auroras painting a breathtaking tableau above us. Despite the -14 degrees temperature, we stood transfixed, our eyes glued to the sky, waiting for more.
After a night steeped in magic, we returned to our hotel, our dreams filled with the ethereal beauty we had witnessed.
